These two routes plus a 28 mile course will be the training routes, with a few tweaks to make them more accessible from my location, in training for our first 1/2 IM.

Papio Marathon 10
Well that is out of the way. Between wondering if it was going to rain and if my feet would hang in there I am glad this is over. The weather was good. Cool around 57 and
All and all it was a great run to give me the feeling of the distance to help me get ready for my HIM in August. Now I will lay off running for a couple weeks and focus on riding and swimming.

NI-BTHASKA-KE 2010

Year 2 and the result is much the same. Trail -2 me - 0.... This is a 12k trail run that is difficult to run but a blast to try. With the inclusion of the 4 milers the single track was full of bodies to beware of especially by the barbed wire. But once we made it past the turn around point for the 4 mile it opened up and you could get a good stride.
Here are a couple pics of what we enjoy leading up to the horse trails.

This is still may favorite race. I wish that we could get a few more of these in our area.

A new year, a new toy!!!
Well in the off season with the amount of snow and cold temps, we have had, it leave a lot of time to reading and tinkering. Here are some picks of a repair stand I built after reading the the article in Bicycling magazine. It was the Jan/Feb 2010 issue. It works perfect for my use and helped me keep thinking of my goals even while not training.
